Phi Phi Island is, when you think about it, and extremely open-air sort of place. Just about the only form of activity that takes place indoors behind closed doors is when your head hits the pillow. So it’s no wonder that the area abounds in exciting things to do, both on and off the island, above and below sea level. We offer daily dive excursions and all PADI courses from Discover Scuba right up to professional Divemaster....

Location, Activities and tourist attraction

Phi Phi Natural Resort is located at Phi Phi Islands, one of the most popular destinations in the south of Thailand. It is just 48 km from to the southeast of Phuket and 45 km to the southwest of Krabi. It can be reached in between 1 to 3 hours depending on the type of boat you choose. Boats leave from Phuket and the Klong Jirat Pier in Krabi Town on a daily basis.

The Phi Phi Islands are located in Thailand, between the large island of phuket and the western Andaman Sea coast of the mainland. The islands are administratively part of Krabi province. Ko Phi Phi Don ("ko" meaning "island" in the Thai language) is the largest island of the group, and is the only island with permanent inhabitants, although the beaches of the second largest island, Ko Phi Phi Lee (or "Ko Phi Phi Leh"), are visited by many people as well. The rest of the islands in the group, including Bida Nok, Bida Noi, and Bamboo Island, are not much more than large limestone rocks jutting out of the sea.

Here are some of the best activities available.

  • Snorkeling
  • Scuba diving
  • Fishing
  • Squid hunting
  • Cooking class
  • Around island sightseeing by long-tail or speed boat

tourist attractions

Phi Phi islands, Phi Phi Lay and Phi Phi Don, can be reached by a pleasant 1 hour and 15 minute to 3 hour boat ride, depending on the size of vessel, from the provincial capital's estuarine pier.

Merely some six square kilometres in area, the rugged Phi Phi Ley is characterised by steep, lightly vegetated cliffs rising from the seabed, hidden bays concealing petite, pristine beaches and calm clear waters, and a spacious, airy cave known as Viking Cave by virtue of purportedly ancient cave murals depicting Viking-like sailing vessels. The cave houses sea swallows whose gelatinous nests are prized by Chinese gourmets.

Two kilometres north, the larger (28 square kilometres) Phi Phi Don has a cuving white and palm-fringed beach extending between mountain masses sheltering calm waters. This, and other minor beaches, offers beachside bungalow and chalet accommodation. The area immediately adjacent to a Muslim fishing village contains bars offering living music, restaurants specialising in popular European cuisines and Thai food, cabarets, souvenir shops, dive shops and charter boat operations offering game fishing excursions and day trips, including several opportunities for snorkelling, around the major islands, including Ko Phai ( Bamboo island ), half an hour from Phi Phi Don and touted by locals as one of the most beautifu land unspoiled, uninhabited islands in the area.

The Phi Phi island group is favoured by yachtsmen and scuba divers who can discover and savour peaceful anchorage, and tranquillity and privacy, in various locations.
